You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.

In the last article, we established the fact that Jesus should interrupt us - his interruptions is actually a blessing in disguise.
Let's study in depth some specific interruptions in the life of Joseph. Joseph needed five interruptions leading to the thrones,
Sold by his brothers to slavery. From a coat of many colours to no coat at all. Interruption
Rose to the rank of CEO of Portiphar Inc from being a slave.
Demoted to the prison.
Became a leader in prison.
Rose to prime minister.
In these five stages of interruptions Joseph met 5 sets of people
Met the slaves and the common people of Egypt. They ate together and he knew their language and culture.
He met and understood the women of Egypt - he eventually married one anyways.
Met the high and mighty in Egypt (Politics)- Potiphar (Captain of the Kings Guard), Baker and Cupbearer (Inner court politics).
He got to understand the business of Egypt and what resources were available in Egypt
By meeting the King's Prisoners, Joseph must have got to understand the dark web of Egypt, the gossip of the pubs and the lives of normal civilians in Egypt
So in all these experiences and interruptions, God prepared Joseph for the role of the prime minister of Egypt. Wow!
But generally, God interrupts our lives for many reasons,
To bring us back to the basics and align us to the centre of His will. An example is God raising Jeroboam (1 Kgs 11:26-32) as a thorn to Solomon - a way of bringing Solomon back to the basics or repentance.
To humble us. The rebellion of Absalom was a great interruption that truly humbled David (2 Sam. 15:13-30).
To fulfil prophesy. God interrupted the life of Mary to fulfil the prophesy if the coming Messiah through her (Luke 1:26-56).
To chisel us ready for His use. Elisha was definitely someone whose life was interrupted from being a business man to an apprentice under Elijah preparing him for the work God ahead.
May the Lord help us to be sensitive to His interruptions and to accept it when it comes in Jesus name.
Shalom!
The spirit of God is definitely One sir. God’s interruption= A Place of preparation!!!
